A Criminal Record No. 2 (also known as the Vietnam Police Check Certificate) provides a detailed record of an individual’s criminal history within Vietnam. It is commonly required for visa applications, citizenship procedures, overseas employment, or legal matters. Please note that this certificate must be applied for personally—authorized representatives cannot submit the application on your behalf.
How long does it take to issue a Vietnam criminal record certificate?
For foreigners, the processing time to evaluate and approve a Vietnam criminal record application is up to 15 working days from the date valid documents are received. If you choose to have the certificate delivered, allow an extra 1–3 working days for it to reach your address.
How much does a Vietnam criminal record certificate cost?
The government fee is VND 200,000 for the first two certificates per application. If you request more than two certificates at the same time, each additional certificate costs VND 5,000.
How long is a Vietnam Criminal Record Certificate valid for?
The certificate itself has no listed expiration date. However, its validity depends on the purpose — typically 6 months for a Vietnam work permit or up to 1 year for a US visa application.
